Apprenticeship Program

The PHCC of North Carolina Apprenticeship Program was created in 2016 for employees of PHCC of NC Member companies.  It is a 4-yr training course combining  on-the-job training under the direction of experienced workers, and related instruction through online classes.  PHCC of NC received  approval and certification from the NC Department of Labor, and the program is recognized and certified by the US Department of Labor/Bureau of Apprenticeship Training.

Each year students participating in the apprenticeship program must meet two key requirements:  1) 146 hours of related instruction through online classes and 2) 2,000 on-the-job hours under the direction of experienced  workers.   This program is administered by PHCC of NC through its Advisory Team, which is composed of contractors who possess a deep interest in training and education for the industry.

At the successful completion of the apprenticeship program, the student will have attained skilled journeyman status and will have a greater opportunity for obtaining license and earning above average wages.

PHCC of North Carolina is affiliated with the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors National Association (PHCC).
